Our guests call it a “dream come true”

“We experienced the amazing hospitality of Bobbie and Mitchell when our private wedding ceremony was held in the beautiful backyard of their B&B. They are truly some of the nicest people I have ever met and every detail was perfect. The interior of the B&B takes your breath away, and the lovely backyard is a restful place for relaxing (or getting married!). Fincastle is a delightful little town with so much interesting history and a wonderful place for a weekend getaway. Stay at this lovely B&B and you'll have a weekend you'll never forget!”

The history

25 E Main B&B was built in 1870 and is included in the National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of the Interior. It was one of the first homes rebuilt after a devastating fire that destroyed most of Main Street in Fincastle.

The New Orleans influence was added by a local lawyer in the 1890’s for his wife who was homesick for her native home in Louisiana. The wrought iron balconies, floor to ceiling (16ft) windows, and unique curved staircase are all features that were added during this time.

It was purchased by the current owner’s grandparents in the 1940’s and has been in the family ever since. Mitch and Bobbie Bowman began the bed and breakfast in 2017 after their retirement from education.

Meet your hosts

Mitchell and Bobbie Bowman are your gracious hosts and proud owners of 25 E Main B&B, having resided at the home and in Fincastle for the last 45 years. Both Southwest Virginia natives and retired educators, they enjoy meeting the wide variety of guests that the B&B brings.

When they aren’t hosting guests they enjoy spending time with their children and 5 grandchildren, studying genealogy, and gardening.

Mitch and Bobbie are happy to answer any questions about the B&B and the surrounding area or make recommendations.

Lily, the Bowman’s golden doodle, also resides on the property. While she is not permitted in the guest areas of the B&B, you may see her running around in the garden or back yard. She is very affectionate and loves making new friends!
